Some of the parks have time limits and you may not stay over two weeks on the same spot or site.  Most of the government camp grounds are on line and you should book the time you would like to stay on the Internet.

On long weekends the site are booked up very quickly.  So be prepared if you do no book in advance you may not find a spot at the location you want to stay at.  All campsite have a percentage of site that they keep on a first come first serve bases.

Be aware that some of the campsites in Canada has only the basic amenities.  Like out houses and maybe a water facet some ware on the camp ground for all to use some of the sights will have water for washing up but not for drinking.

Fire wood is supplied by government or a private person or company and you will have to pay for it on top of your camping fees.

Some camp sites are very remote and not close to any stores or gas stations so find out what is in the area be for you go.  Nothing worse than having to drive for hours to go get to a store of some thing you forgot.

Remember never leave a fire unattended even for a few minute that’s all it take to ruin your camping trip and the rest of the camps trips.  Do not have a raging bon fire at your camp site as a hot embers can fly miles and start a fire.

Be safe never leave food in your tent or laying around your campsite.  This may attract company that you will wish did not arrive.  Spring time and berry season will be a good time to spot bears.  If you see one give it a wide berth.

We were remote camping in British Columbia last year and spotted a sow with her cubs about 500 yards down the creek.  They stay on a little island in the middle of the stream.  Some city folks showed up and I mentioned that there was a bear and cubs on the island so they should stay clear.

Well with in 10 minutes dad and mom with the kids in tow headed for the island to see the camping Canadacubs I have see dumb before but that was the stupidest thing I have ever seen. It is getting dark and they went looking for the bears.

My first response was you should not go there but hew if the bear got them then I would not have to put up with all the screaming the kids did.

So dinner is coming ring the bell a few more city slickers are gone.  If you have no experience in the back country listen to the folks that do it may save your life.  Think there is now wall between you and the out doors.  This is not a zoo.
