10 Camping Tips

If you're planning a camping trip follow these camping tips for the best camping guide, camping bed, and camping lantern to name just a few of the camping equipment ides you'll need to look at.

Camping is my favorite activity and when it comes to camping you have all kinds of choices.  You can tent camp, base camp, canoe camp, RV camp, tent trailer camp and even back yard camp.  No matter how much camping you do or which type of camping you do there is always something new you can learn.  Here are 10 camping tips

1.  Get Organized
Organize your gear before you go.  Organize your gear so that the stuff you will need first and most often can easily be accessed.  So for example your tent will be the first thing you need when you reach the campground so put it right at the front where you can grab it quickly and easily

2.  Choose A Campsite
Where ever you will be staying you need to choose a campsite.  Know vehicle patterns in the campgrounds, which sites are sheltered from wind and rain, which sites get the sun.  Then choose a site that works for you.

3.  First Aid Kit
Remember to pack your first aid kit with your camping gear. Everyone in your camping group needs to know where the kit is and how to use it.  Leaving it locked in the vehicle isn’t very smart because you won’t be able to access it in a hurry.  A better plan is to have a designated spot in the tent.

4.  Pack Your Shovel
Your shovel is one of the most important pieces of camping equipment you’ll take with you.  You can use it to level the ground for your tent, control your camp fire, fill in ruts, and countless other things.  Don’t forget it!

5.  Choose The Right Tent
The type of tent you choose will depend on how many of you are going camping, what type of weather is expected, and how long you are going for.  The bigger the tent the better.  The extra space allows for you to relax and sprawl out to read your favorite book, or have a game of cards.  Add on rooms are also handy, especially a kitchen.

6.  Make A Checklist
The easiest way not to forget anything is to make a checklist of everything you need.  That way as you pack it you can mark it off your list.  It’s very easy to forget a good book, a pillow, hiking boots, or even batteries.  If you are taking pets with don’t forget to add their food and bowls to the checklist. 7. Keep It Near
Your most important camping gear should be on you and not tucked away in a tent or vehicle.  Things like your watch, cell phone, flashlight, pocket knife, and whistle should always be with you.

8.  The Extras
It’s the extras that can make a camping trip that little bit more comfortable.  Zip lock bags are essential to bring with you.  They always come in handy.  Pack a flare to light wet wood, and don’t forget your favorite chairs.

9.  Advance Cooking
Do some advance cooking at home then all you need to do is heat it up on the camp fire.  Baked potatoes, pastas, and a host of other foods can be prepared in advance.  It will shorten your cooking time considerably.

 10.  Good Friends
The most important camping tip is to bring along good friends and family.  When you do this the rest doesn’t seem so important.  Forgot something not such a big deal.  Don’t have the top of the line camping gear.  It won’t seem to matter.  Because good friends will mean a great camping trip.
So what are you waiting for?  Why not plan that camping trip for the next weekend?  You’ll be glad you did!
