Nanaimo has a population of 80,000 and shopping to make you mouth water.  The harbor sail past is very exciting as the local sailors light the Hobart with an array of Xmas light all on their vessels. They sail past the down town parks and then up the inner channel and back

For places to stay the RV parks have all services you would want.   From treed sites to water front sights close to shopping and city bus route.  Some parks are in the city and still give you the sense of being out in the wild yet you are on a few minutes from every thing you will need.
